The
hardware that supports the Cybernet High Speed
service is rated for 8 Mbps downstream, and 1
Mbps upstream data transfers. Downstream refers
to data that is delivered to your computer from
the Internet while upstream refers to data that
is sent from your computer to the Internet. For
the majority of Internet users, downstream data
transfers are much greater, and more important
than upstream; this is why the High Speed ADSl
service may provide Internet access speeds that
are as much as 100 times faster than the speed
of a 28 kbps modem.
