You can setup your user profile to maintain your fully automated connection to the Internet. Enternet 100 can be configured so that you are (and stay) connected to the Internet automatically when you start your computer.

To do this, create an alias of the Enternet 300 and move the alias into the Startup Items folder.

Configure the Enternet 100 client:

  1. Launch Enternet 100

  2. Click the File menu

  3. Select Preferences

  4. The Preferences screen is displayed

  5. Uncheck Prompt me before connecting

  6. Optionally, uncheck Launch Mycybernet after Connection if you don’t want your browser to start automatically

  7. Set the Idle Timeout Value to No Timeout

  8. Click Save to save and exit.

If you are using an earlier version of the MacOS and Internet Config is not installed, the Mycybernet Helper application will not be able to launch the browser automatically.

You will need to install a third party system extension called Internet Config.

  1. Download a free copy of Internet Config

  2. Disconnect by clicking the Disconnect button in the Enthernet 100 window.

  3. Quit the Enternet 300 and quit the Mycybernet Helper if it is open

  4. Double-click the Internet Config installer

  5. Click Install

  6. The Internet Config installer displays a message saying that the installation was successful

  7. Click OK

  8. The Internet Preferences window should open

  9. Click the World Wide Web button.

  10. Type http://www.mycybernet.ca/ in the Home Page field

  11. Type http://www.google.com in the Search Page field

  12. Close the World Wide Web window.

  13. Click the Helpers button

  14. In the Helpers window, click “File”

  15. Select Change

  16. Click on Choose Helper

  17. Browse to the browser that you are using.

  18. Repeat for http and https

  19. Quit Internet Config

  20. Click Save to save your changes

The next time you connect with the Enternet 300 or select the help facility, the browser you selected will be lauched

There are two possibilities:

One crash has been found to be fixed by upgrading the iMac system and CD-ROM firmware. Contact Apple for firmware updates.

A more common problem is due to running AppleTalk over the Ethernet interface to the broadband network. This will easily cause AppleTalk collisions with other systems that may also be broadcasting over the same wire. NTS recommends in all cases to avoid problems with AppleTalk by pointing the AppleTalk device on the control panel to a Remote or Printer port.

You can decrease your exposure to the Internet by configuring Enternet 300 to terminate the connection if it is inactive.

  1. Launch Enternet 300

  2. Click the File menu

  3. Select Preferences

  4. Set an appropriate Idle Timeout Value

  5. Click OK to save the change and to exit

If your Mac is set to low resolution (640 x 480), the initial splash screen is too large to display the OK button to continue. Hit Enter and the install will continue.

EnterNet must be reinstalled after the Open Transport is reinstalled or updated.

The obvious cause of this problem is either the equipment/ cable / network connection is not functioning correctly. In rare cases however it was also found to be due to re-installations of different versions of EnterNet which found conflicting Preferences files. To remove this possibility, uninstall EnterNet, and delete the NTS folder in the System -> Preferences folder.

Then re-install EnterNet.

This error is because EnterNet doesn't support sleep mode on the Mac. It can cause a system freeze. A workaround is to set the "System Sleep whenever it's inactive" setting to "Never" in the Energy Settings control panel.

This error, as well as "Cannot Invoke the PPPoE Session", is most likely due to an incorrect configuration of the TCP/IP stack and its binding to the Ethernet card.

The MyCybernet High Speed Edition Adapter’s configuration should be as follows:

  1. Click on the Apple menu

  2. Select Control Panels

  3. Select TCP/IP

  4. The TCP/IP screen is displayed

  5. Click the File menu

  6. Select Configurations...

  7. The Configurations screen is displayed

  8. Select Magma High Speed from the list

  9. Click the Make Active button

  10. Back to the TCP/IP screen, select mycybernet in Connect via

  11. The following defaults should appear:

    Configure : Using PPP Server
IP Address: " will be supplied by server "
Subnet mask: " will be supplied by server "
Router address: " will be supplied by server "
    Name server address: 1.2.3.4
    5.6.7.8

  12. Close the window to exit and save the changes
