- Why
do I want to network my home?
Take advantage of your ADSL Internet connection
and share it with other members of your
household. With Networked computers, everyone
can enjoy Internet access at the same
time.
Share the laser Printer in your home office
and the colour printer in your family
room - you won't have to switch computers
anymore. Each computer can make use of
your scanner and other peripherals, too.
You can access documents and programs
and back-up files stored on your other
networked computers.
- What
do I need?
Two or more computers to share files,
printers and more.
ADSL modem connection to the Internet.
Computers running Windows 98 or better.
You may need a Cat-5 Ethernet Cable.
- What
are my options?
Wired Network
If you already have a structured (Ethernet)
wiring througout your home or plan to
have all your computers in a single room,
then a Wired solution is
best for you. It is the least expensive
and provides connections at the highest
speeds (up to 100Mbps)
Wireless Network
If you plan on sharing the Internet
from different rooms and do not have structured
wiring installed throughout the house,
then a Wireless Network is the
best solution. In addition, you can enjoy
the freedom of mobility to move in and
around your house while staying connected.
