Step
1: Install TCP/IP
Note: Be sure to have
your Windows NT 4.0 CD in the
drive.
- Click
on "Start", then "Settings",
and chose "Control Panel".
- Double-click
on "Network".
- Select
the "Protocol" tab.
- If
TCP/IP is already installed,
click "Cancel" and go to Step
2.
- Click
"Add".
- Select
"TCP/IP Protocol".
- Click
"OK".
- When
asked "Do you wish to use
DHCP?", chose "No". Windows
NT will now install the TCP/IP
software.
- Click
"OK".
- You
will be asked to restart your
computer. Click "Yes".
Step
2: Install Dial-Up Networking
Note: Be sure to have
your Windows NT 4.0 CD in the
drive.
- Double-click
on "My Computer".
- Double-click
on "Dial-Up Networking".
- If
Dial-Up Networking has already
been installed skip to Step
3.
- Click
"Install".
- During
installation, Windows NT will
identify your modem. If your
modem is correctly identified,
hit 'OK'; if not, you will
need to install it yourself.
- In
the "Remote Access Setup"
window, click "Configure".
- For
"Port Usage" select "Dial
out only". Click "OK".
- Click
"Network".
- In
"Network Configuration" window,
make sure only TCP/IP is selected,
and click "OK".
- Click
"Continue".
- You
will be asked to restart your
computer. Click "Yes".
Step
3: Configure Dial-Up Networking
Double-click
on "My Computer", then double
click on "Dial-Up Networking".
Click
"New".
Enter
"Mycybernet" in the box provided
and click "Next".
Place
a check next to "I am calling
the Internet" and "The non-Windows
NT server I am calling..." then
click "Next".
Depending
on your location, use one of
the following dial-in numbers.
If you have call-waiting, add
"*70," before the number.
If
you are not sure of the Server
Number Click below.

Wide Access
• North
America Access
Click
"Next".
Place
a dot next to "Point-to-Point
Protocol (PPP) and click "Next".
Select
"None" and click "Next".
Leave
the "IP Address" alone and click
"Next".
Enter
"209.222.63.130" as the "Primary
DNS", and "206.186.81.2" as the
"Secondary DNS".
Click
"Next" then click "Finish".
In
"Dial-Up Networking" window,
select "More" and then "Create
Shortcut to Entry" and place
it on your desktop.
Click
"Close".
You
are now ready to connect to
the Internet. Be sure to enter
your username and password in
the boxes provided before connecting.
